Happy Slip is here in Manila and I was not able to go in her meet. Sigh, sigh,sigh. But good for her so she may know more about her roots. Enjoy it girl!
Internet diva and You Tube goddess, “Happy Slip” is my idol. Well, I spent countless hours watching her self-made hilarious but intelligently made videos. Yes, self-made because she is her own production team. A one-woman stand who do mostly everything for the videos from the scripting, directing, acting, and editing.
Other nationalities may not be able to relate to some of her videos. But fellow Filipinas can surely say that it is very “us”, very “Pinay“. Most of her Vlogs can actually happen in our every day life, that sometimes we just fail to notice. That when we watched her videos, we just cannot help but to take a li’l break and laugh at ourselves
For my readers who have no idea who am I talking about. Well, fellow Filipina, you should start to know her (Visit her site). It makes you feel proud that there is one Filipina in America who was able to capture the heart of the many peeps in the whole web wide world (www).
Christine Gambito is a Filipina based in the US. She grew her popularity in the web because of her VLogs (Video Blogs). She may be mistaken as Jean Garcia. Beauty, brains and humor combined personifies Happy Slip. Because of her popularity in the Net, she was appointed as the new ambassador of the Phil. Tourism.
I heart Half Slip because she gives the Filipina image a much needed moral boost.
My message to you Christine,
“May you continue to uplift the image of the Filipina”
==================
Excerpt from her Happy Slip site.

What is a Happy Slip?
While growing up, my mom was always quick to remind me to wear a half slip with my skirts. She would say “Your hap eslip!! Be sure to wear your hap eslip!!”. So I grew up thinking – the term was always “happy slip”, until I was corrected by classmates who asked me if I had a sad slip as well.
Why did you choose to use HappySlip as a screen name?
Not only is it a funny phrase from the past… – but it reflects what I’d like people to feel when they watch these videos. Hoping they will “slip into happiness” while watching. Cheerful fun moments to just laugh and enjoy. My dream is that people would have a smile on their face when watching these little productions, and that it would brighten up their day.

you still have a chance to meet her on thursday, go to her site, arrangements are being made for a bigger venue. good luck!
and thanks for the “filipina” links
