You are the SECRET

A friend who has seen me rise from the corporate world until now that I am back but in a very relaxed and happy mode once asked me how I was able to survive the jungle of the corporate rush. She asked me my SECRET. She told me that it has almost been 10 years that she is working but it seems that she could not even make a step in the ladder.

If my unsolicited advise will help her and those who have the same question you might consider my thoughts about this concern:

• “Be the best in your chosen trade”. – Always take an extra mile in learning new trades and knowledge in your field of expertise. If you are in Sales and Marketing, get the best sales training, if you are in Purchasing, know the latest Procurement style in the industry. If the company wont offer a training, go get one from your own funding. Anyway in the end you will benefit from it once you apply in other company.
• Leave if you are not happy anymore – if for years you feel that you are stagnant in the same position then leave and find a new job.
• Believe and appreciate yourself- Remember, only you can improve yourself. Change must come from you first. If you do not believe in yourself how can you convince others.
• The list may continue but the real SECRET lies in YOU. Only YOU can help yourself. Start NOW, because if it is not NOW, it MIGHT be NEVER.
