While most if us have a merry Christmas, some of my countryman may not be as lucky. Three tragedies struck just this Christmas Season.
- Hours before Christmas Eve, a sea tragedy occurred in waters off Limbones Island in Cavite on a fishing boat (FV Anatalia) and a ferry loaded with passengers (MV Catalyn B) traveling to spend the Christmas holidays in the provinces collided.
- Another sea tragedy occurred after the MV Catalyn tragedy. Twenty-five people are missing after a small inter-island ferry (MV Baleno) sank in waters south of the Philippine capital - Batangas.
- While many families are relocated far from their home and celebrated the Christmas in relocation centers because of the wrath of Mayon Volcano. The once perfectly coned shape volcano is wrecking havoc.
Today I ask that you take a moment from your busy routines and remember those less fortunate. Let us remember how lucky we are. Our lives may not be that perfect but at home, a family, friends, education, health, freedom, love, security, food, life. There are those who does not even have the basic needs. Let us offer a silence of prayer for those who are less fortunate. May they be able to find your dear guidance Father God, because only in Your hands can they find solace and hope.For those who have more in life, remember that those who often look at the negative things are those who cant find true & lasting happiness...look at the simple things and do not complicate life, and then you will see that life is so beautiful...it works for me, it might work for you too. You are so lucky my friend, that unlike our unfortunate brothers, we are alive and with our families and we have a moment to live our life to the fullest.

On the sidenote:When tragedy strikes this is the time when we think of getting protection similar to the health insurance in NC. But honestly, here in the Philippines it is scary to get one because of records of claims which are not given because of the company bankruptcy
