My Dream Kitchen

I have previously shared in some of my post that I am so excited in moving in to our own home . Our very own home will be turned over to us by end of this year. Just like any other homemaker, at this early I already knew what I want for our modest abode. I want it to have a touch of modern yet minimalist in approach. I would like to eliminate clutter in as much as I can. I am just keeping my fingers crossed that I will really live to it since we all know that a typical Filipino home is almost always cluttered because of too much sentimental value to some items or things that we tend to cling with it too much.

Again, at this early I have already downloaded some pictures of how I would like our interiors to be. From the paint down to the every nitty gritty items.

But one thing that I am very particular about is that I would really like my kitchen to be the kitchen that I am dreaming of. The kitchen will be my personal space in the house; it will be my turf and territory that is why I am really into designing it. I want it to be functional yet simple I have already an eye on how it will look like. Even the faucet, I have found one from Price Pfister, a faucet that I want and I have also seen similar design in Ortigas Home Depot.

Here is the picture of my Dream Kitchen.

Nobody by Wonder Girls : A World Wide Phenomenon

I thought that the song Nobody by Wonder Girls was only a hit here in the Philippines. But I was definitely wrong, it was already a World Wide Phenomenon. It has become so popular that people from all walks of life and even different nationalities from around the world are making dance videos of it.

Wonder Girls, the South Korean sensation has conquered the world with their addictive hit of ‘Nobody’. It has become a musical phenomenon because of its beats and easy lyrics specially their trademark, hallmark dance steps of the song! The K-Pop Phenomenon has indeed conquered the world.

The Wonder Girls themselves are a sight to behold, sexy bodies, good looks and the typical Korean fashion. Makes me want to take diet pills Phenphedrine to have that body hehhehe.

View : Wonder Girls Videos at You Tube(http://www.youtube.com/wondergirls)

In our office it has become a LSS (last song syndrome) that it seems we cannot get enough of it. Once you've got the beat it just seems hard to stop. Addicting, is the best word to describe the song!

Our very own celebrity inmate from Cebu Provincial Jail has their own rendition of their dance moves of the song Nobody...Watch and enjoy!!

Benefits of Being a Wheelers

It was really flooded yesterday; I was caught driving in the heavy rain. I thought that my car will stop in the road because of the flood. But I am too happy that I was able to make it to our home safe and sound.

After that experience, only then did I remember an advice from my sister to register in the Wheelers Club International. My sister’s car stopped in the middle of the busy street and just once call from Wheelers and she was given road assistance. The registration fee of Php 700 / annual is very reasonable compared to the hassle if ever untoward incidents happens on the road.

Wheelers Club offers the following services to members :

My Icko's Pet - Kyle & Kite

Out of the blue, my little boy Icko approached me and asked if I can buy him a pair of bird. I asked him back why and he told me that he wants to take care of the birds as his pet. Naturally, I am ever supportive to all of my kids endeavor specially this one since I know that having a pet for the kid can make him more responsible

So the next day Mama and Icko went to the pet shop near our place. Naturally there are many domesticated animals in the shop along with the different pet grooming kits, dog ramps, feeds and aquariums. Inside the pet shop, Icko became uncertain whether he wants a dog, fish, hamster or stick to his first plan – the bird. I explain to him that right now we cannot have a dog for a pet since our apartment owner restricts having dog in the compound, but I promised him that as soon as we transfer to our own home next year I would get one for him. Between the fish, hamster and the bird, Icko chose the later.

We bought a pair of love birds. Icko’s first task is to give them their names – Kyle (for the male) and Kite (for the female). I just felt so happy seeing my little Icko’s big smile. As soon as we hit our home, he was the one preparing for the birds’ food and water. He was consistent in his task that every morning before he go to school he has to feed the birds and never fail to remind his ate yaya to clean the poop of his birdies.

I am so happy that at an early age, he already learned the value of responsibility. A nice way to start is for our kids to have a pet for them to take care of.

I have also posted similar write-up about Pets for Kids – read about the advantages of giving our kids a pet.

General Cleaning Mode

What have I been doing this Saturday, Grrrrr, instead of resting I am just finished with the general cleaning of our room. It is not that I am complaining but I am just too tired. But I feel the urgency to perform a general cleaning since I need to find a small item which is of important for me to find right now. I need to retrieve a very important office file in my missing micro sd. Sometimes I must admit at times I can be a little burara with my things. Now I am done cleaning the whole room. The outcome everything is now spic and span, but I still cannot find what I am looking for. Huhuhu, I need to start my work from scratch.

Let's Back Up our Files

I got another scare of my life when my computer failed to start. I have been through it before when my computer crashed and all my files and beloved pictures have been deleted. I cried for 2 days and sighed even up to this very moment. I got a sigh of relief when the screen showed up but everything was in pink. I thought that there was a problem with the video card, but after several check with the cables, there was a loose connection of cables from the cpu to the monitor. Thanks God, O thought that once again all my files will be lost.

At that instant I blame myself for being a procrastinator. Why? I already encountered loosing all my files and shed a lot of tears with it, but I still did not habitually back up my files. I would never want that to happen again, never. So what am I doing right now. Here I am uploading my files in my multiply account and doing a CD back-up. I can never take the risk again.

So guys and peeps, this is just to remind you too to back up your files. Remember, “nasa huli ang pagsisi”

A Call to All Pamilyang OFW - Help Save the Family

Perhaps by now you have already known that I am a member of the Pamilyang OFW – a coined term in the Philippines for a family whose one of the member of the household is working abroad. I have also the reiterated the importance of communication in my previous posts.

My husband told me that being far from his family, he always feels sad every time there is an important occasion in our lives. The distance and homesickness usually hit him hard. As a loving wife, I always make sure that during occasions like Christmas, Birthdays, Anniversaries and the likes, I always make myself and my kids available for him to chat. Thanks to the wonder of technology.

Apart from our chat, my husband also told me that he gets so excited opening his email to check on my message for him. My kids and I would usually send him greeting cards online. He told us that it definitely make him smile and ease his loneliness.

I would like to reiterate to the family of an OFW, that there is no reason for us not to make our loved-ones abroad feel that they are loved. We have every available resources in our hands. Imagine how hard it is before during the 70s and 80s where they have to tape their voice in a cassette tape and send it via package, having a risk that it might get lost during transient time.

Let us make an effort to communicate with our loved-ones abroad, make them feel loved. A simple greeting cards if you cannot send it to them thru snail mail can now be done online. Our telecommunication company here in the Philippines has also exhausted all their resources to provide low cost texting thru their roaming services.

Calling all Pamilyang OFW - Let us do our part, let us help maintain the love and communication. There has been many families separated because of the distance, let us keep our family intact. Remember that, the very reason why we have come to the decision that one of us has to work abroad is because of OUR FAMILY.

Top Keywords That Landed in This Blog

I was studying the traffic of my blog “Brown Pinay”. I found out that the following search keys / words from different parts of the world actually landed in my page.

Top 7 keywords that landed in my page.

Pinay; Filipina – mostly from overseas
OFW / Pamilyang OFW –coming from both local and overseas.
Working Mom – coming from both local and overseas.
• Sexy Pinay; Sex Pinay, Filipina Sex – this is really sad, but nevertheless although the reader who uses this search key becomes disappointed, I was able to give him a better perspective on what a true Filipina is. That we are not an object of lust.
Sale – I am sure that the reader is hunting for a possible sale in the metropolis. Because of the positive turn-out of this keyword, I am contemplating in adding a new category in this blog – Sales Attack, wherein I will post for sale or event in the Metropolis.
Holidays in the Philippines - who would not be interested in this topic.
Driving School in the Philippines - I have created a profile of the different driving schools here in the Philippines, this is brought about by my search for a best yet affordable driving school in Manila particularly

I just hope that my flame in writing will continue to burn, sometimes I am experiencing a writer’s block, but being a blogger for 3 years now, I can say that once a blogger always a blogger. There maybe times that I may not be able to update, but I always keep coming back in the blogosphere. Always coming back as your Brown Pinay.

Rainy Friday

At around 5AM today I received a text from my ate, according to her she heard from DZMM that DECS has suspended classes in Elementary and High-School and other selective colleges who have also declared. This was due to tropical storm Isang.

As usual, nainggit na naman si Brown Pinay, it is so hard to rise and shine specially when your kids are are fast asleep. But as ever, since isa akong mangagawang Pinoy, no matter if it is raining cats and dogs, I have to go to work. So reluctant and half heartedly as I am, I prepared for work.

As soon as I get out of the house, my ordeal started, bumuhos ang ulan at ang lakas ng hangin....tumaob ang payong ko at ang baha ay hanggang bukong bukong ko. But what else is new sa Monumento area. It is a good thing that I am in slippers, mahirap na ang mahal ata ng shoes ngayon noh. But ganun pa man....basa pa din ako.

Basa na late pa...hayyyyyyyyyyyyyy buhay. This is the life of an employee, not that I am complaining...naiingit lang sa mga walang pasok... hehheheh.

To add more on my inggit, Malacañang has already announced suspension of work in all government offices in the National Capital Region (or Metro Manila). (Inquirer).

I am still waiting for the suspension of work from our office, perhaps mga 4:45PM kasi labasan namin is 5PM hehheheh.

Mesothelioma in the Philippines

I had drawn interest in the awareness about the disease Mesothelioma after learning that it is caused by asbestos. After several researches, I learned that it is work related. In the United States and several other European countries, they have already reported cases of death and affliction of disease in their work place bought about by Mesothelioma. I have also learned that the government of this respective countries provide free legal services, where they can have Mesothelioma lawyers to represent in their behalf.

Exposure to asbestos is really hazardous and alarming. I have recently read in a news article that here in the Philippines, a mining corporation in the Philippines has been ordered to clean up its act, following the discovery of asbestos-contaminated materials.

The Lepanto Consolidated Mining Corporation (LCMC), situated in Benguet is one of the country’s biggest producers of gold. The company is alleged to have illegally, and secretly, dumped asbestos waste material and construction debris.

If you are a victim of asbestos exposure in your workplace here in the Philippines, you may acquire the services of lawyers specializing in this battle. (Asbestos Mesothelioma Law Firms in Philippines)

Weight, Weight, Weight, Whew, Weight

I received a text from a friend telling me that her sister is in the hospital. She got dizzy and collapsed instantly. She was apparently into dieting and taking diet pills. She has been into Chinese diet pills which were easily bought over the counter in those Chinese drug stores.

Weight has always been an issue for women. I for one have been battling from my struggle to loose weight. I am also into taking un-prescribed dietary pills before, but because of my condition (High BP), I stopped. Others would always easily tell me that weight loss s all about discipline in food in-take and exercise. Duh, easier said and done.

Many dietary pills and supplements sprouting in the market, some claim they have pure ephedrine, herbal, healthy with no side-effects. But a word of caution, especially if you have a medical condition likes me. Always seek the advice of the medical expert. For all we know, in our quest to look better it might cause us our precious health and even life.

My Curiosity with Mesothelioma

I was doing a little SEO research and I was surprise that one of the most high paying word is mesothelioma.

Naturally, it took my interest and curiosity. From the looks of it, it is a medical term, and I was correct.

"Mesothelioma is an uncommon form of cancer, usually associated with previous exposure to asbestos. In this disease, malignant (cancerous) cells develop in the mesothelium, a protective lining that covers most of the body's internal organs. Its most common site is the pleura (outer lining of the lungs and chest cavity), but it may also occur in the peritoneum (the lining of the abdominal cavity) or the pericardium (a sac that surrounds the heart)."

I am still wondering why the interest for such word and why was it considered to be one of the highest paying word.

Celebrating with My Kiddos

What better way to celebrate a very special day in my life, then being with my kids. I filed a VL just to be with them. Although Papa is not around, I feel that we need to continue celebrating every momentous moment in our life.

We went to SM North and have our dinner at Kenny Rogers. It was a real coincidence, because when the cashier gave us a number for our order, it was a NUMBER 37. Was it by fate or purely coincidental.

After the dinner, we watched the last full show of Transformer. It was really an action-packed movie which we really enjoy from the start to the end. My little Bumble Bee Icko was full of energy as he was recounting the movie to his Papa.

Simple joys like this does not cease to give me enough happiness and inspiration.

Feeling the Age Bite

When you are starting age, only then will you remember the caring remarks of your old ones not to take a bath when it is already late or if you are dead tired. Now that I am in my late 30s I am not ashamed to admit that age is already catching up with me. There are times that my memory loss is really deteriorating, I just do not know if this is because of my two Caesarian operation, but I am really saddened with this. I am just very thankful that my high blood pressure is not bothering me anymore.

I am also very keen on the food that I eat, although I am still very lazy to have a regular exercise schedule. I am contemplating on taking supplements like Colonix. But I still have to hear feedbacks from friends who is taking it.

Birthday KO Ngayon

Yup, yup Birthday ko ngayon and I have every reason to be thankful and happy. 37 years old na ako, parang kailan lang pero ang state of mind ko naiwan na sa 25 hehehhe. It is not that I refuse to grow old, it is just that I want to be always young at heart.

Sana tuloy tuloy ang aking lucky and happy streak.

At 37, I can say that I am complete. My husband and two bundle of joy (Ishi and Icko) makes me complete.

My memory is already lagging at times (early signs of aging huh due to my 2 CS operation perhaps) but nonetheless kalabaw lang ang tumatanda and since Dyosa ako wala kong problema dyan hehehhe.

Hay buhay parang life. Basta ang importante mahalaga. Makulit ba??? Hayaan mo na birthday ko naman ngayon.

Your greetings is good but I need.......................................CASH????

Hayaan nyong maging national thank you day ko today.

Sa mga kaibigan ko, ilang beses na ba tayong nagkanda kabag kakatawa, mga kaututang dila kung tawagin....may kasabihan nga tayo baliw of the same feather flocks together. Let us continue to make good laughter and jokes together.

Sa aking Ishi at Icko, salamat for making me Complete. For being an inspiration.

Kaso mo naniwala ako eh belat at patuloy na naniniwala na maganda ako inside and out. Imagine that 19 years of togetherness saan ka pa.
