At the age of 6, my Icko is still a picky eater and that really bothers me. In as much as I want him to eat a very well balanced diet, he will usually resist. Meal time is a challenge to me. Meal time is a test of my convincing power and patience. Icko is the type of picky eater that when he wants the viand, he will really have a feast on it. But if he does not feel like eating it, he would not really touch the food.
Most of the time, my Icko is also hesitant to try new food. I will often times force the food into his mouth just to let him taste and appreciate it. Most of the time he would love it and that is the only time that he will be more than willing to take that new food. Talks of being quite barbaric while in front of the meal table. You can just imagine the scene.
But the good thing is that, my Icko still remains to be that active. Actually, there are times that it is hard to cope with his energy. But who cares, that is much better than seeing him sitting in one corner, because for sure he is not feeling well if that happens.
I must admit that Icko does not eat a balanced diet each and every day, but over the course of week, I gave him vitamins to supplement his dietary needs.
Now I also do a little compromise, if he does not like what is prepared for the whole family, I gave him alternative food that he loves. I just can not resist seeing him starving just because he does not like the food. I know, I know, somewhat spoiled errrr. But I know that just like her big sister Ishi (also a picky eater before), he will be able to appreciate all the food that we will be serving ( done with the picky eater stage).
If you have any experience or tips for me about the same experience, I would appreciate your inputs here.
