BC Blogger is Back with a Vengeance

BC_BLOGGERS

The world of the blogosphere has indeed evolved, gone are the days when we would leave comments asking for a blog exchange link. Or chances are, you will put the link of the other blogs in yours uncertain if it will be reciprocated by the other end.

A simple tips for the blogger newbies – link building is one of the vital part of blogging specially if you are into monetization, but for me it is also more of social networking where in you’ve got to be connected with fellow peeps with the same interest as you are – blogging.

Thanks to fellow Pinay blogger Paula of Mommy Diary for generously taking the step to link us all just when anyone else is too busy with their offline and online endeavor.  I know that link building is important but being a working mommy blogger, I have no freedom of time to visit and collate all their blogs for reciprocal link.  Thanks to the concept of BC Bloggers, been a part of the previous run and I am happy to say that it has positive effects on this blog.\

Now BC Blogger is Back with a vengeance now on its 4th run, Brown Pinay is getting hitched

Brown Pinay at the 1st Ever Blogapalooza 2011

{Warning picture extensive}

Last Saturday (September 17, 2011) was indeed a monumental event in the Pinoy blogosphere – the first ever Blogapalooza event was held and it was indeed a blast. DJ Vince Vilongco of When in Manila and his team were able to bring 50 business + 150 bloggers with different niche under one roof. The name of the venue 5F Fully Booked was not only fully booked but oh-so over booked.  Spotted are techie, foodies, fashion, events, advocacy/political and other different niche blogs…..i belong to the mommy bloggers group.

Blogapalooza Partnership

I love the idea of business to bloggers concept of marketing. It has been widely accepted in the US that bloggers are now part of the new media, somehow their clout and influence are now widely accepted. The concept was actually the first of its kind here in the philippines.

The first ever Blogapalooza was indeed a resounding success. It is a win-win situation for all the participants – bloggers and business alike. The business participants were all able to introduce their products to the bloggers thru this meet, they give various samplers and products for the bloggers to have a taste of their products and for brand recall. In return, all the blogger participants who were all hyphed by the event will write not only their social networking experience, but their products as well,

Did the blogapalooza event serve the purpose, my answer will be a resounding yesssss……for an organizers who are not really into events, this is actually a feat. Fully Booked venue was true to its name, it was indeed fully booked that time.

Business presenters was able to innovate the way on how they will present their products in just 5 minutes to sell their brands/products. Bloggers by nature has short attention span hehehhe ADHD syndrome, that presenters should really find ways to innovate and catch our attention before we volt in and group into ourselves hehhehe….Likewise, Different brands and products were generous enough to give us a taste of what they offer thru samples, freebies and gift certificates.

Here are some of the snapshots of the event chronicled on pics:

Thanks to the food & refreshment sponsors who keeps us full: Healthy FirstItalianni’s,  Aqua Best and Size Matters Flame Grilled Sausage Burgers

Blogapalooza Swags

It really is interesting to see how the force of the Pinoy  blogosphere has evolved.

But of course apart from the organizers, this event would not be successful without the generous business who were been bold and brave to explore the possibility that they can tap bloggers as part of their advertising and marketing campaign. {I will create separate posts re: some of the products which had caught my fancy during the event}

Brown Pinay’s Top 10 Emerging Influential Blogs 2011

I am happy to note that there are new entrants in the world of Pinoy blogosphere that shows promise, gives inspiration and somehow influence their readers. I had been a blogger since 2005 and somehow I can say that there are some blogs that truly influence me in one way or another.

It is my first time to participate in the  Top 10 Emerging Influential Blogs 2011 Writing Project .  This project has been around since 2007,  I am participating since I strongly believe that My Top 10 Emerging Influential Blogs 2011 are all worth the mention.

Allow me to cite My Top 10 Emerging Influential Blogs 2011. (In alphabetical order – all of these blogs influence the different facets of my life – as a mom, a wife, a blogger and the many different roles and shoes I am trying to fit in)

Certified Foodies – is a food blog shared by the sibling tandem of Mhel and Ken. I am not an adventurous person in terms of finding a place to eat. I would often search for blogs who carries out good reviews on restos and other food products before trying it. This blog serves as one of my reference point in my resto selection and foodie tripping.

LEVYousa – it chronicles the life and experiences of my blogger friend Levy. I love her style of writing since we have similarities on how we share our adventures and mis-adventure in our blog. Her enthusiasm is very contagious.

Mommy Survival – Ellen blogs about her home management tips and parenting experiences which are based on what she has already applied to survive. Being a Mom is not an easy task more so managing a household is one of the toughest job to handle since there are no day-offs and holidays this blog will help you get by and survive. I always check this blog since I believe that being a Mom and the Queen of the household is a continuous learning experience

Mom Writes – who would not know Ruby? If this is a writing project for the most influential blogger, she would surely give it a fight. But apart from the influence of the blogger, this blog (out of her almost 100 blogs) is equally influential in such a way that it gives inspiration. Since I personally know the life behind the blogger, the more that I admire the positivity being shared on this blog. True enough, in life we may have the “ups and downs” what matters most is how we deal with it and survive in the end.

My Green Living Ideas – a blog with an advocacy to save Mother Earth and Nature. I do admire the Ria for her effort to extend the cause thru this blog. This blog sow awareness to the readers on the many things that we can do to conserve Nature and preserve the Earth.

My Painted Lips – is an addition to the many blogs of Pehpot. After giving loads of Mommy tips in her main blog, it is just very timely that she starts a beauty blog whose focal point is about my favorite kikay kit ever – Lipstick (since I am not a make-up person and I do not know how to apply it, but the only perfect make up application that I can apply to myself is my LIPSTICK). I will surely be on the lookout of this blog for lip care and lipstick reviews.

Notepad Corner – I am also a Mom and I consider Joy’s tips valuable. It is not easy being a Mom and a Home Maker, there are several hits and misses, but her tips and guides on the many “how to’s” on just about anything you can think of in and around the house are all helpful and worth the bookmark.

Pepperrific Life – her blog chronicles her experience as a single parent. Those who are under the same predicament as Pepper can find solace and inspiration. Apart from being influential she is an inspiration to single moms like her.

The Bloggers Journal – I am blogging for 6 years now but sad to say I am not very familiar with the techie part of being a blogger. I am monetizing some of my blogs the very reason why I need SEO, good traffic, PR and in order to achieve all of those, something has to be done to the blogs. Thanks goodness I was able to find The Bloggers Journal that helps me understand the techie part of blogging. The blogger presented the topic in such a way that even a blogger noob can understand. This blog is written “to inform and not to impress”.

The Tottering Mama – How I missed the days where in my kids are still a toddler and her blog reminds me of those days. If you are contemplating on home schooling for your kids, you better head on to this blog since you will get lots of hands on activities and experiences that works for them and might work for you as well.

Brown Pinay’s Landing Keywords

Keywords

After our Blogger Fiesta blogger event, I immediately check the keywords which drove traffic to this blog Brown Pinay and here are some of those.

  • OFW
  • Pamilyang OFW
  • Pinay
  • Working Mom
  • Hot Pinay
  • Nursing
  • F*ck Filipina
  • Sexy Pinay
  • Pinay Mail Order Bride
  • Teenage Marriage
  • Love Story
  • MCU

For those who are searching for OFW, Pamilyang OFW, Pinay, Working Mom, Nursing, Teenage Marriage, Love Story and MCU, you had come to the right page, for I embody all of this and this blog talks about the many facets of me using this keywords.

But for those who are searching and googling about Hot Pinay, F*ck Filipina, Sexy Pinay, Pinay Mail Order Bride, I am 100% sure that you are disappointed, you might be expecting Pinays in nipple pasties and bikinis or wearing nothing at all. But you had landed in a Pinay Mommy Blog.  Although I am saddened that there are people searching this keywords which draws negative impact in the Filipina image. At least I had been instrumental in making them see and realize the other facets of a being Filipina and Pinay. I hope that somehow I had been instrumental in reshaping the image of the Filipinas online.

Brown Pinay Meets Pehpot…..

This is another long over due post which is meant for posting right after Mother’s Day but since I’ve got messed up with the packing and unpacking of our things because of our house transfer and now I am beset with the bad internet connection in our new place, this has been delayed {explain, explain, explain hehehehe}

So let us go to the meaty part of my story hehehe.

Last Mother’s Day, our group Pinay Mommy Community held a Mother’s Day Exchange activity {it is similar to the Christmas Kris Kringle}. We fondly coined the names:

“Surprise Mommy” – for the person who will give the gift
“Secret Mommy” – for the mommy who will receive the gift

My “Surprise Mommy” is non-other then Pehpot, yes the famous Pehpot beautiful, sexylicious, she-boom Pinay Mom blogger of the blogosphere. There was some time that I even doubted her for being snob / mataray that I even asked my personal friend Iris of EntrepreMom about her, and positively she answered that “OK si Pehpot”. Coming from a dear friend, I definitely believe her, see as Melanie Marquez said “Do not judge a book by its cover because you are not a judge” hehehehe. But joking aside, True enough I know that she is a sincere person. I am very happy that Pehpot took an extra mile to make me happy on this Mother’s Day. She delivered my special gift to my office to think that she is a very, very busy and pre-occupied wonder Mom. She even cooked for me her award winning carbonara which my husband blatantly told me that was better than mine huhuhuhu. Because of her I am a proud owner of Best Mom Ecobag. Above all, she made me feel like a beauty queen for a day, it has been a long, long time ago since I received a bouquet of flowers, coming from a fellow Mom this has been more meaningful to me.

I may not be the person who easily cry, but my joys can be easily manifested with my actions and my happiness is hard to contain. Because of Pehpot’s thoughtful and endearing gesture to me, I am reassured that indeed you can find true friend and good people in the world of blogosphere. Obviously this blog posts manifest how happy I had been that day that Pehpot visited Brown Pinay
