2011 Online Blessing Year Ender and 2012 Lucky Start

I will be on my 6 years on blogging this coming May 2012. I can say that my Brown Pinay has been a venue of my many blessings. This blog has been a haven of my thoughts and my journal where my dear OFW hubby catches up with our activities he had missed while he is away from the country to work abroad. Apart from that there are many things that have happened this year that I am truly blessed.

I found a blogging community which is more than just blogging; we share a common interest in life – MOTHERHOOD. I am very thankful to be associated with the positive energies from my fellow Pinay Mommy Community (PMC) – mommy bloggers whom I share a common dictionary and interest. Indeed, I can truly attest that you can also find true friends in the blogosphere.
2011 has also been very good to me in terms of blog monetization.

Apart from my regular pay per post programs, my affiliation with PMC opens new doors to me. I was introduced to different Direct Advertisers (DA) which was willingly and unselfishly shared by fellow Mommy bloggers like me. As an inspiration to other bloggers, for this year 2011 alone I was able to earn $1,335 (for my 3 active blogs and some online contests) which helped me get by our expenses. Indeed, I can say that you can earn money thru your blogs/online without necessarily losing that personal touch in your blogs.

2011 has also been very kind to me in terms of online blessings. Yes, because of my insomnia, I was able to stay late at night to wee hours in the morning – thus giving me time to join online contests which I luckily won in some where I joined. (I had also previously blogged about this here). Luck must really be on my side since after that post, I continuously won in some of the online contests that I joined.

I had previously blog about My Blessing Bucket and My 2011 Lucky Streak Strikes Again (chronicles my lucky winning from January 2011 to Sept 2011), but after that post, blessings after blessings continue to pour in. My Online winning streak continues even up to this day. I must have done something good to deserve all of this. But when they ask me what is my secret in winning – my answer is “The secret is in JOINING. Join the contest so you will have a chance to win…”

  • An eBook (31 Days to Clean – Having a Martha House the Mary Way) from e-Junkie (https://www.e-junkie.com)

  • An Adidas EcoBag from a blog which unfortunately closed just recently.

Just when 2011 ended and 2012 has just started, I received an FB message from a dear blogger friend that I won the Marriage and Beyond’s Give Away. I am all smiles since I really love the giveaway prize – Boardwalk His & Hers Timepieces and to add to that, a P500 donation will be placed under my name to help the victims of Typhoon Sendong. I can’t wait to give the other matching pair of watch to my better half once he comes home from his vacation. Since I am also active in soliciting help for the victims of typhoon Sendong, I am glad that Jeff and Jen Aspacio have shared the blessings in my behalf. Year 2011 has ended and Year 2012 has just started. Year 2011 has been productive to me online, I fervently pray and hope that 2012 may be as productive and lucky as well. May the rainbow continue to shine.

2nd PMC Grand EB

Being part of the Pinay Mommies Community (PMC) is just one of the most wonderful online things that ever happened to me ever since I had been active in the blogosphere. I had been blogging online since 2005 and I am very happy that at last after several years I had found a community. We do share the same vocabulary, which at times others may not fully understand. .. I feel that I really belong each time that I am with my fellow PMC – we share the same passion – blogging and above all we all love being Moms.

Pinay Mommies Community - PMC 2nd Grand EB

Last Nov. 22 (Tuesday) was indeed a very momentous day in my blogging world. I was able to attend the 2nd PMC Grand EB. It was rainy that time and before the event we encountered a change of venue problem, but no rain and problem can stop the PMC Moms. Actually what should be a simple EB/meet-up turned out to be a blog event – the mommy way. Not much has changed since the 1st EB – it was still chikka / fun-filled except that we had grown in numbers and we were able to tap several sponsors who make this event even more special.

What is also so special with our 2nd PMC EB is that PM Moms merged and converged at Aling Tonya’s Seafood Restaurant – Macapagal, Dampa here in Pasay, Manila – from up North down South. Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao were well represented. Not to mention the 3 International Moms whose timely vacation coincides with our EB. “Tunay ngang …saan mang sulok ng Pilipinas maging ng Mundo may PMC Moms na kasama tayo

Most of the PMC moms seldom attend blog events in as much as we want to since we are constrained to do so because of our top priority – our kids / family. Likewise, most of the blog events that we are invited to, restrict us from bringing our kids. So the 2nd PMC Grand EB ala blog event was done in a way that it will be mommy friendly. Kids are allowed to be tagged along and seeing them play around the venue makes the event even homier.

The program was divided into 2 parts – the first part was for our dear sponsors who helped us out and raffling of their gifts to PMC. I am glad to note that the products presented to Moms are also the same products that most of us has been already using in our household. While the 2nd part is more intimate encounter with the Moms – where we have the endless chikka and the ceremonial PMC token giving.

Together with my equally bubbly partner Ning, we are tasked to host the 2nd EB. I had been hosting several events {be it for family, school, weddings, office}; mind you this was so far one of the best. It is not easy to keep up with the energy of the Moms but we are able to survive and managed. My punch line “Pacencya na po at wala pang budget ang PMC, hindi po makakarating si Eugene Domingo at si Pokwang, kaya pagtyagaan nyo na po kami ni Ning” worked well. In other words, “bumenta naman” nyahahhaha.

I will forever be indebted to Mommy Ruby for drawing us near and creating the PMC – a community that is tantamount to say already a family. Rubz’s announcement regarding the charity projects and the launching of the PRMoms.net (PMC’s PR arm) excites me even more. There has been more to look up this coming year.

What happened in what supposed to be an organized token giving is another story to tell. PMC moms brought along simple tokens for the 50 moms to share with. We parted the token ala Divisoria way. Laughter filled the small venue. Only PMC moms can do it that way, I really have a good laugh since we are literally like in Divi bargaining our wares. But it has been a good way to interact with other Moms – some of whom we had only seen personally that time.

It is always nice to put faces on the bloggers, the PMC EB is not about the blog, but this time it is behind the bloggers behind those wonderful blogs that has been an avenue to binds us together.

Going home is yet another story to tell, my car was coding that time so I had no choice but to commute. (via bus). I wish I have more than two hands that time. I do not know how I was able to manage to come home from Macapagal in Pasay to Marilao, Bulacan. But my super powers did me wonders – thanks to my Mommy Powers which was recharged even more in that PMC Mom EB. I am sure PMC Moms at the EB can totally relate nyahahaha.

My 5 Bags from the EB

My 5 Bags from the EB - how did I manage to got home to Bulacan Nyahahhaha

Arriving home has been also much as fun, my kids took charge of the 4 eco-bags filled with goodies. This reminds me to endlessly thank the sponsors for their wonderful gift to us. How did I manage to bring home this bags from PMC 2nd EB? Answer: Mommy Powers…. Each and everyone in our house have practically something from our PMC EB.

I would personally like to thank all the Moms behind our 2nd PMC EB – KUDOS to the organizers Mommy Ruby and Mommy Pehpot for all the effort in pulling this event even though you are also very busy from your offline/online endeavors. To the committees : Registration and loot bags distribution were manned by Rossel, Levy, Nina, Mae, Maricel, Kaye and Fedhz. To our official photographers for the event – Mauie and Eihdra. For the product display- Cecile, Olga and Gene during the program. Everything was detailed and organized to the last bit, done ofcourse the mommy way.

Oh, and by the way, We were in the News too….

PMC as seen on Newspapers

All in all, it was not just fun-filled but goody filled as well….gazillion thanks also goes to all our dear sponsors who make this even more special.

I love the big Ceelin since this is the pedia prescribed Vitamin C of my bunso. Moreover, because of our proximity in the major drug store it is also nice that UNILAB also gave us Dolan and other meds that we can really use. It is nice to have goodies which you actually use at home.

I apologize for the over long and picture extensive post.  I am very much over-whelmed that the cup is over flowing with happiness and cheer that I would love and like to impart it to my readers.

Indeed, who says that you cannot find good company and friend over the blogosphere, I have found mine though Pinay Mommies Community – a friendship that is beyond blogging.

To all of the PMC Moms, here is a cake for all of us to celebrate the community that we call our own.

Special cake done by fellow PMC Iris Pulga of Project Happiness Bakehouse

Until the next Kitakits, I hope that more PMC Moms can attend….but whether or not you are at the EB, we will always be one at heart.  PMC Rocks!!!

The Blogger is Back

Much has happened since I announced that I will be on a hiatus because of my self-inflicted blogger disease called “blogger’s block“. Because of what has transpired in the past few weeks, this give me enough reason to bounce back in the blogging scene and share the experience and positive vibes.

http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-hvbPdm-eX70/TdLmsSMxzRI/AAAAAAAACmo/ZU44F74eR-8/s1600/blogger+back+online.jpg

To keep me motivated and focus, let me just share you some of the topics and experiences I am aiming to share in this blog.

  • Our Manila Bay Cruise
  •  My Son’s Taekwondo Yellow Belt Promotion
  •  The Wonderful Grand EB of PMC (Pinay Mommies Community) = DONE
  •  My ME Time at The Nail Corner (I am happy that though I am now based in Marilao, Bulacan, I am still not deprive of the comforts of my ME Time)
  •  My Blessing Bucket Part 2 – I had been so lucky on Online Contests and again won several times, let me share to you some of my winnings and lucky streak.

That is quite a handful, enough to keep me preoccupied over the weekend.

With this in mind, let me officially announce that.

“THE BLOGGER IS BACK”

Brown Pinay’s Landing Keywords

Keywords

After our Blogger Fiesta blogger event, I immediately check the keywords which drove traffic to this blog Brown Pinay and here are some of those.

  • OFW
  • Pamilyang OFW
  • Pinay
  • Working Mom
  • Hot Pinay
  • Nursing
  • F*ck Filipina
  • Sexy Pinay
  • Pinay Mail Order Bride
  • Teenage Marriage
  • Love Story
  • MCU

For those who are searching for OFW, Pamilyang OFW, Pinay, Working Mom, Nursing, Teenage Marriage, Love Story and MCU, you had come to the right page, for I embody all of this and this blog talks about the many facets of me using this keywords.

But for those who are searching and googling about Hot Pinay, F*ck Filipina, Sexy Pinay, Pinay Mail Order Bride, I am 100% sure that you are disappointed, you might be expecting Pinays in nipple pasties and bikinis or wearing nothing at all. But you had landed in a Pinay Mommy Blog.  Although I am saddened that there are people searching this keywords which draws negative impact in the Filipina image. At least I had been instrumental in making them see and realize the other facets of a being Filipina and Pinay. I hope that somehow I had been instrumental in reshaping the image of the Filipinas online.

Goals, goals, goals

Now that I am nearing my 40s, I care less since I still have my 39 years to spend fruitfully. I have set my 5 goals to do for this wonderful year ahead of me.

(1) Have my own “ME” time. I had been super dooper pre-occupied with our move out and transfer to our new home in Bulacan, with my hubby and kids, that I almost neglect myself. I feel that I am so “wasted”, until now I had not adjusted. {Our new home is very far from my place of work – Marilao, Bulacan to Pasig – I am not complaining though, it is just that I need to adjust my wake up time and since I am not a morning person being a night owl all my life, this is quite a big change in me}. I am contemplating whether to pursue a Zamba or Yoga class (actually I had already bought thick yoga mats years ago). I just hope that this will materialize soon.

(2) Save More and Earn More – I need to save more and to do this I need to earn more. I will in my best effort find a sideline / extra source of income to augment our savings. I need to do this since hubby is back as an OFW, I would like to do my share to save for our family. Our goal is to save for our own business enough to sustain us, enough to retire us from both being an employee, enough to become an entrepreneur.

(3) Be a Good Child of God – I must admit that I am not that religious. I don’t even go to church every Sunday. But that does not mean that I am a bad person though. But I had decided to give Him praise, our family has already started to go to mass every Saturday. Thanks to our bunso, it has been a shame to me being Icko’s Mom that my little one was even the one encouraging and prodding us to go to church to say our mass.

(4) Do more and stop procrastinating – yes, I will try not to procrastinate. The last time that I had my dose of my own medicine was during my driver’s license renewal whereas I applied for my renewal on the same day of its expiry only to find out that I cannot renew since I had a Traffic violation ticket that I need to have a clearance with MMDA. Just come to think of it spending the entire day of my birthday at MMDA and LTO huhuuhuh…..Also, if I have a discipline to stop procrastinating, I know that I can blog more and do more. Will I start now, ahhhhh perhaps tomorrow hahahhaha…

(5) Live Healthy, and Lose Weight – allow me to include this time immemorial goal. Who knows I might hit this goal this time….I am always your Ms. Hopeful when it comes to my weightloss journey. I had proven that I can stop drinking Coke, lessen my coffee, I will try to the best of my ability to lessen my food intake particularly my rice intake. I will bear it in mind to eat like a lady and not like a man. Hmmmmm….wish, wish, wish…

This will all be for now, I hope that I will be able to meet my goals.

How about you, what are your goals for this year ahead of you?
