Typhoon Gener

I took a leave of absence from my office not because I am sick nor I have an activity to tend to. Actually it is a short notice leave. It has been raining cats and dogs here in Marilao, Bulacan. The rain has not stopped since the other day and the wind was really driving me crazy. I can hear the roof of my neighbor banging and whirl swish sound of the wind. At the same time, there has been a “brown out” from 11:30PM to 2:30AM the other day, thus adding to the agony. I reall made a good decision and buy when I purchase a battery operated led lights.

When we woke up and check our garden, much to my despair huhuhuhu, my malunggay tree felldown and my plants are all in disarray. I filed a VL to do a little cleaning and at the same time to catch a sleep (how could I sleep with all the rain and wind at the same time humid temperature because of the brown out).

Well, nevertheless, I should be thankful though, unlike others who has been affected with flood, we are safe and sound here in our own humble abode. Some parts of Manila, Cavite and Bulacan has been heavily flooded,

How about you any typhoon Gener story, I hope that you are safe too.

Home Management : Swimming Pool Maintenance

One of the most costly maintenances, may it be on a commercial place or at home, is the swimming pool.

From pumps, heaters and coolers, filters, salt generators and cleaners to the sliders and diving boards, they are not cheap.

Having an own swimming pool could make your house more presentable and enjoyable for the family but it can be a lot of headaches when maintenances were neglected especially if you ran out of funds for it.

But need not to worry much if you’re lacking enough budget for your swimming pool sustenance because there are online sites which offers discount pool parts and other products with prices that will not hurt your finances plus free shipping! Don’t miss them, grab that coupons or discount codes now!

Lucky With My Dear House Help

Choosing the right house helper is like choosing the right partner. As a working Mom, it is my topmost concern to select a trusted maid since apart from all the household tasks, she will be taking care of my kids while I am away from work. So apart from being good at work she should be trust worthy since my kids’ safety and well-being is at stake.

Recently, there has been news of abusive maids whose misdeeds were caught when their employers installed CCTV cameras. When I watched it, I felt a sudden pound in my heart; the maid was hurting the child she was supposed to take care of. I know the feeling of the Mom and I was almost teary eyed that time.

I am very lucky that so far all the maids that I was able to hire are all loving and caring to my kids. Household tasks performance is secondary to me since the priority is to take care of my kids fairly. When my two of the maids who had moved on to a new facet in their lives left us, my kids and I even cried. Although they are already not with us they will always check on the kids or even sleep over to our place if they have time. I am also as happy with my helper now since my kids will tell me too that their “ate” is just as OK as the others.

Others may not be as lucky as I am. Finding the right house help is a dilemma for a working Mom like me.

In the US they are lucky that an on-call agency providing manpower that can caters to cleaning similar to the services being offered by Maid Service Washington DC is at their reach. I hope that similar business will emerge here in the Philippines. If you are a SAHM (Stay at Home Mom) and you just need an extra hand for your household help, hiring an on-call stay out helper is very ideal. Well of course this scenario is not friendly to working moms like me.

There are really no “perfect maid”, but I am hopeful that all of us will be able to find a good one who will love our kids just like their own.

A Home We Call Our Own

**Warning picture extensive post**

Apart from having a wedding, baby announcements, announcing a new home address which you call your own is perhaps one of the most happiest moment in one’s life.

We are now formally announcing our new address : B18-Lot 1 and a new Zip Code:  3019

It has been 3 weeks now since we have moved to our own home which we call our own. We still have several boxes to unpack {I do not have a timeline though as to when this will be done}. But for now, you can take a peek at our simple abode.

The challenge with our house is that we had to maximize our small space.  It was really hard to fit in all the things which we brought coming from our previous rented house.  Our appliances and furniture are previously brought before to fit in our rented apartment. {Our L-Shape Sofa was too big for our new house but we had resolved-see below}.

Since we still do not have kitchen cabinets installed, we improvised the 2 TV stands to function as kitchen cabinets.  We still have to extend the kitchen in the vacant space at the back of our house, but currently budget restricts us from doing so.

Needs to be unpacked

Upper Right: There are still still several boxes that needs to be unpacked.

Lower Right : Aircon that needs to be mounted.

Upper Left : Things from our old house that no longer fits inside our new house. {Most are gifts from our wedding- {3 punch bowls, 4 coffee sets etc.}.

Lower Left : Frames and display that needs to be mounted.

Since we are still restraint of budget, our fence is made up of wood from the supposed to be for disposal wood crate.

My house is in Marilao, Bulacan and I go to work at Pasig City, well it is true that travel time is really tiring and tasking but I realized that although it is tiring there is this sense of accomplishment.  This is just a small sacrifice for me, since at the end of the long day, I find happiness knowing that this house is a home we call our own.
