Next Project: House Extension and Fencing

Another thing that is keeping me busy nowadays is our upcoming construction of our house extension. It has been almost half a year now since we moved in our own home. I was able to document here in my blog about the inside house improvement of our home and once again I will try my very best to update my blog about our house extension construction.

I am very lucky to have an achitect brother to do the house plan for me and coincidentally OFW was here to do the nitty gritty of applying for the government requirements (house plans, building permits etc).

We are working under a tight budget and I hope that it will fit in.

Scope of Work will be:

  • Kitchen extension
  • Transfer of Comfort Room to make the living room more spacious
  • Leveling of the garage to floor level
  • Steel gate and fence,
Our White Fence

Our soon to be improved wooden house fence.

I am now scouting for designs and I am so excited about it. I am creating my house dream board as of now. Ive seen a good patio flooring from modutile.com which i also want for our house.

I will surely update you so that you can also have an idea of the expense cost which will also be useful in your own house renovation.

Lighting Fixtures for Security and Aesthetic Value

Summer is just around the corner making it conducive for house construction. This summer we are all set to have our garden, fence and gate constructed.  I have previously blogged that we had installed a temporary wooden picket fence made from recycled wood pallet.  At this early I am already planning on the design aspect of our aspect – this also includes the landscape of garden, design of the gate and fence, tiling and even the lighting.

Adding outdoor lighting fixture does not only provide lighting for safety purposes but it also adds aesthetic value and gives an ambiance to your home.  The lighting industry has already gone long way in providing lighting that does not only serves its purpose but also provide visual appeal for the interior and exterior façade as well.

There has already wide array of choices depending on the personality or style preference of the owner of the residential or commercial premises. Style selection varies from Victorian, Traditional, and Contemporary Lighting just to name a few.

Gone are the days where in outdoor lightings are dab and plain. For gardens and outdoor terraces, outdoor wall sconces are perfect to enhance its aesthetic feel and look .  It is important to have the perfect lighting for your façade.  It does not only provides peace of mind, a well lighted facility discourages uninvited guests (burglars) in your place.

Nothing beats the feeling of a sound and safe home in a very conducive ambiance.

I Love MY Garden

If there is one thing that is keeping me sane,de-stress and happy (aside of course from my kids and hubby)nowadays, definitely it is MY GARDEN.

I just started gardening only a year ago, since we moved here in our new home in Marilao, Bulacan. Apart from cooking and blogging – gardening is my stress reliever – my ME time. Weekends has been more relaxing to me since it is the only time that I tend to my plants.
Let me be a little proud gardener and share with you my little haven. It may not be the grandest garden, but it is a labor of love.  I don’t have that gardener magic called Green Thumb, but I am passionate about it.

Gardening requires lots of water – most of it in the form of perspiration.  ~Lou Erickson

Aiming For A Better House

Our basic needs are food, clothing and shelter. In the Bible, actually if you have food and raiment (clothing), that’t about it. To live decently, though, we need a roof, actually a house with walls (for privacy) and a toilet for decent and healthy disposal of human trash.

It is but natural for human beings to look for something more than what we have especially if we can afford it. I mean, it is not bad at all to desire things we can afford. To desire things we cannot afford remains, though, in the box of wishes, until the time comes we can already afford it.

We do some things to be able to reach for goals whether they are minor or major. Owning a house is one thing. It is still better to be able to own a house than rent because you will not be haunted by rental fees forever and merely collect receipts. When you buy a house, even if it is a housing plan for several years, at the end of the agreed time you get to own the title.

Improving on what you have is not bad either. I wish to have one of those Boulder CO homes for sale and be part of the community even. All I have to do is contact a Boulder real estate agent who can help me find the house I would like to live in with my family for the rest of our lives, maybe. We just bought the house we are living in right now. We’ll enjoy it for awhile before moving again but I have considerations in mind already. Let’s see what the future holds.
