Selecting a Driving School in Manila

This is another one of my long overdue post. Last week I was on the verge of selecting a driving school, I really have a dire need to learn how to drive, since my OFW husband bought a bago na luma (Second hand) car as a gift for our 16 years of wedded bliss (I will be posting a separate entry for this).

While my sister Ate Yeng and my besfriend Sheng are both good lady drivers, I develop this fear inside me that driving is really hard and nakakatakot plus nakakataranta. But since I have a need to learn I have to contain this fear and put my best foot forward. After hearing all those positive encouragements from my siblings and friends, I decided to conquer one of my fears. Now is the right time to conquer my fear, if it is not now, it might be never.

Selecting a best driving school has been my foremost concern. For me it should not only be the best in terms of techniques in teaching, cost-effectiveness, but as a female soon to be driver, I am on the look-out for a driving school with good positive feedback from previous female students too. I researched the Internet and searched for different forums (PEX, Femalenetwork etc) about their opinions on the different driving school here in Manila.

There are 4 driving schools that were constantly mentioned and cited during my research: A1, Smart, Socialite and Honda Kaloocan Driving School. They are the short-listed known driving school in Manila, while others have provincial branches too.

I immediately gather information through calls, feedbacks from friends and their leaflets.

After doing all my comparative analysis on the four driving schools here in Manila last March 19, I opted to enroll at Honda Caloocan Driving School. I also avail of their LTO assistance in obtaining my Student’s License (that will be another story). I enrolled in their 10 hrs program for beginners. I have just finished my 10 hrs session today. I feel so equipped, with more practice I know that I will be able to traverse EDSA and soon the NLEX/SLEX.

Procrastination really hit me this past few days, imagine I was not able to blog about my driving lesson class in time. Perhaps must be because of excitement and too much overwhelm with my driving. But as the saying goes better late then never. (So expect that this will be a series of post about my driving experience).

I later learned that there are driving schools which offer special driving lessons (VIP Courses) for busy clients who want our instructors to pick them up at their office or home to conduct the course.

Except for Socialite, I have gathered the leaflets of A1, Smart, and Honda Caloocan Driving School for your perusal and reference. I hope that it may aid you in selecting your driving school.

If ever that you will enroll in Honda Caloocan Driving School, just mention to Sir Mhel or Sir Jun that you were refered by Cielo of Brown Pinay, no discount though hehhehe.

Driving School in Manila : A1 Driving School

A1 Driving School has already proven their track record when it comes to driving school. Here in the Philippines, if you will ask someone about a driving school that they can recommend, then they would probably answer A1, not because they have tried enrolling there, but because of its popularity.

Just click on the thumbnails to view the fliers.
